Time for another Sunday Sevens – linking up with Nat at Thread and Bobbins.
- Last Sunday was absolutely gorgeous, so after we’d finished out Sunday chores, we headed to the beach for the evening.
2. Monday was gorgeous too. Definitely paddling weather.
3. Unfortunately on Monday I also had to take Hicks back the vet, because he’d started skiing down our gravel drive on his bottom.

4. The vet diagnosed it as inflamed but, despite him already being on antibiotics for the urine infection and me already having started bathing it before we saw the vet, it turned septic Tuesday. So poor Mr Hicks was put on more antibiotics and confined to lead walks, while I’m bathing and applying cream 4/5 times a day and chaperoning him every time he goes in the garden 😦
5 I hate walking him on the lead, but at least the moor is still gorgeous to walk on.
6. And when the weather turned bad on Thursday it was gorgeous and dramatic
7. On Friday’s walk I was amazed to spot this on the path to the Norman Fort in the village. No idea why I’ve never spotted it before and no idea what it’s about.
8. Friday afternoon was spent celebrating a lovely friends birthday with a delicious afternoon tea.
9. On Saturday Lovely Littlest and her knitting arrived for a visit.
10. In the evening we went out for an Indian, which despite us being regulars was appallingly slow then they rushed us out the minute we’d finished, because a big table had turned up. We certainly weren’t the only table being treated like this and service was equally slow last time we went – despite it being a Tuesday. We certainly won’t be going again and I can feel a TripAdvisor review coming on.
Hope you’ve had a great week,
Looks like you had a good week. Sorry mr Hicks isn’t well, hopes he gets better quickly. xxx

Surely, your vet must be a personal family friend by now 😉

I’m thinking of moving in with her 😉

I’ve always thought it would be handy to have a vet in the family. We have a nephew who has qualified as a vet but, selfishly, he has gone off to New Zealand and specialises in sheep.

How very selfish! 😉 Certainly would be in our case – although I’m practically a dermatology specialist now 😉 My eldest wanted to be a vet from being very small, then she saw an episode of Vets in practice and changed her mind. Damn reality!

Poor Mr Hicks – hope he gets to walk off-leash soon. Poor service is an absolute no-no in my book -review away!! Your walks look lovely, no matter the weather!

Thank you. Yep, they’ve blown with me – however nice their curries taste.

Thank you. You should. That was a tea for two shared between four and there was still too much! xx

Oops, maybe a quiet word might have the desired results at the Indian. You know what they say “If you like it, tell others – if you don’t like it, tell US”. Fingers crossed they up their game soon. Nice afternoon tea, though. Dartmoor is spectacular whatever the weather, arguably more so on a stormy day. Hugs to Mr Hicks.

They knew they’d done wrong from the way they behaved when they rushed us. We used to live on a hill that had a fantastic view of Dartmoor and you could see the storms going over – it was amazing. Thanks for HRH’s hugs 🙂

Hope Mr. Hicks responds quickly to the new meds!..bet he can’t wait to wander freely again, specially when there are puddles around 😉 Spectacular photos of your week! Exciting Celtic stone discovery, wonder if you can find out more about it from the locals?! 🙂

Thank you. Problem is there are no new meds to try, just trying to keep on top of the situation with what we already have 😦
I’ve taken a picture of the stone and am going to ask.

Mr. Hicks can rely on you!!! new meds or no…you’ve done such a great job looking after him through all his ailments, I’m sure your attentiveness will see him through this no problem 😉

Poor Mr Hicks, he does look well and happy in the face despite what he’s he’s going through. Looks like the receptionists love him as much as all your readers 😀

You’re right, he’s such a trooper. No human would still be smiling if they’d been through all he’s been through. And he’s so good when they’re doing all sorts of prodding and poking. The receptionists and nurses are all very good to him (and me). Mind, we’re in so often, they may think he is one of the staff 😉

Great week with super weather to start with, and then a bit of the usual clouds as well. 🙂
Hope Mr H feels better soon. You are doing a good job at keeping an eye on him. Hugs from us.
Have a great week ahead as well. 🙂

Sorry to hear about Mr Hicks, I hope he’s on the mend. That stone at the fort is beautiful with all the engravings on it. Beautiful beach photo too 🙂

Drats for the poor service. Indian food sounds divine. We used to have a half-okay place but they closed recently. Tragic.

That’s a shame. I’m now erring towards taking my wise friends advice of telling them. Although they knew they’d done wrong and it wasn’t just us, so what does one say. But the food is yummy.

Bless Mr Hicks, I hope he is ok and gets better soon. The afternoon tea looks scrummy 🙂 It’s a shame about the Indian restaurant, hopefully it was just a blip and they will start to improve their customer service.
