Joining in again this week with Sunday Sevens – the brainchild of Nat at Thread and Bobbins.
Although it’s turned a wee bit chilly, it’s been another lovely sunny week with lots of lovely sunny dog walks…
Lovely husband was off work this week, so on Wednesday we had a trip to Dartmouth, where we accidently ended up on the road that took us via the ferry…
Lovely husband was horrified at the price of the ticket…
But we had a lovely wander around….
And fish and chips on the harbour…
On the way home we stopped at Dartington for cake and hot chocolate…
Spotted this bag while we were there and wondered if I could knit something similar…
Also found these glasses and couldn’t resist buying them…
Although it was a sunny week, it was also very windy at times. Our lawn ended up looking very autumnal, but the hydrangeas are still reminding us of summer.
Hope you’ve had a great week.
I like the glasses and lovely husbands shocked face, ha ha ha. Good luck with the bag, you can do it.xxx

Looks like the perfect day out to me – you’ve just got to have fish and chips at the coast. Knitting a similar bag will be a good challenge for you. Tunisian crochet would be a good alternative, too, especially to get that texture. Lovely glasses:)

Tunisian crochet, now that’s a thought. Thank you.

Nice to see Mr. Hicks enjoying the Autumn sunny walks! Soooooo long ago we frequented Dartmouth for annual hols and fish and chips were wonderful ~ they still look as good today in your pic!! Look forward to seeing your bag creation 😉

We hadn’t been to Dartmouth for year either despite not living so far away 😦

Designing a pattern for a bag like that would be an interesting challenge. Could be an addition to your range of kits? Or is it too large? – as you’d have to include the handles I suppose. Just thinking ‘out loud’.
I am more than impressed that you managed to eat cake after having fish and chips for lunch.

Don’t be impressed – it all adds to the waistline. I’d love to add a bag. Have so many ideas about things to add, but all about time and different sorts of wool being better for different things. But keep the ideas coming when you think of them – all wool empire building help appreciated 🙂

Awesome week. Love the ferry trip, and your fish and chips looks so delicious, I really need to make some soon. Mr. Hicks seems to be enjoying the walks a lot still, although I see your leaves are starting to fall.
I would have bought the glasses as well, they are beautiful.
Have a great week. 🙂

Thank you. The ferry trip was ludicrously short – hence husband’s shock at the cost. Yes, Hick’s is really well and enjoying like at the moment 🙂 Leaves are starting, but without the very high winds I think they’d still be up on the trees. You have a great week too 🙂

The Dartmoor show was on countryfile last night talking about the sheep and there was a lady selling things she had made from the wool like ripes and dog toys and I kept hoping for a mention of you, but they missed that treat. Anyway that ferry was a lot, unless you think of it as an experience in which case no more than two fair ground rides. What a wonderful day out and those glasses are so pretty. Good to see Mr Hicks enjoying his walks.

Afraid it was barely an experience the short distance we went. I did see countryside, the lady you saw has a company called Twool – she’s doing brilliantly. Very impressive. Think I’m a bit small for Country File to feature, but one day… 🙂

Should be ropes not ripes!

And come to think of it it was actually called the Widecombe show .

It was. We have lots of shows – I think that was the original though.

Fish and chips and cake! My favourites! Be careful if you’re ever near Calais, you could end up in France before you know it if you end up in the wrong lane again 😂

Ha ha! Good point. But don’t worry I rarely leave Devon unescorted.
