I’m joining in, as usual, with Sunday Sevens, which was started by Nathalie at Threads and Bobbins.

It’s been a unsettling week with the heart breaking stories unfolding from the terrorist attacks in London and the general election Friday. The weather seems to have reflected this, moving from vague sunshine to high winds and a lot of rain then sunshine again then more rain and fog.

The changes in weather caught me out when I left lovely husband’s sander on the bench outside and found it waterlogged in the morning. Hoping it will dry out.

We’ve become Sunday regulars at Okehampton Station cafe – it’s great stop half way around Mr Hick’s walk – and he now gets a piece of bacon on the house every time we visit…

Another one of our now regular walks is the park. Six months ago it would have been too small and Hicks would have chased off out onto the roads. But now he’s happy to stay within its the boundaries and it’s nice and flat not to challenge his legs. Amongst other things I love there is this carving. I wonder if Lovely husband can make me one for the garden?

The park is also great because Mr Hicks is a very sociable chap and there are lots of other dogs there. We do miss walking with his friends and this week I sneaked of to walk with this crew, who he just can’t keep up with any more…

And that really has been our week. Lots to take in from the outside world, but in our world it’s been mostly walks and puddles…

Hope you’ve had a great week.

    1. Yep my energy was really knocked this week by the outside world and I definitely needed to retreat to parks and puddles. Maybe I should try wallowing like Hicks does. The outside world never troubles him πŸ™‚ At times of voting, I always think of Douglas Adams and the Hitch Hiker’s Guide to Galaxy where he say the best person to rule the universe is the person who least wants to do it πŸ™‚

  1. So a week of park and puddles, sounds the perfect antidote to me, bet Mrs M wishes she could have a week of p&p! I was thinking that a whole Sunday sevens with just Mr Hicks would be a very good thing indeed and would take lots of pressure off you to perform!

      1. Ok a bit of an exaggeration, but there’s many a time I’ve been splattered in mud by him having a good hard shake. And I swear my friend’s German Sheppard deliberately gets as close to me as he can before he shakes.

  2. Hope all goes better soon. It seems to be unsettling all around. We had a horrible storm on the west coast (not much affecting us up in Johannesburg, except for cold) but the aftermath was very bad, with lots of flooding and then huge fires that could not be contained due to the winds. Huge losses to many many people, everything they owned. A very very sad week, and we all pitched in to drive charity work and donations.
Take care, and we hope this week is a bit better. πŸ™‚

    1. Thank you. I did hear about the storm and I remember the winds driving the fires out there last year. So awful. At least our wild weather is generally more tame. Sounds like you need to have a better week this week too πŸ™‚
