I’m joining in, as usual, with Sunday Sevens, which was started by Nathalie at Threads and Bobbins.
Another difficult week in the UK with the Fire at Grenfell Tower leaving me yet again saying thank you to universe for my blessings and holding others in my thoughts. On a more practical note, I’m sharing this link to a petition that a friend has started to ensure the site is redeveloped for social housing and that others don’t profit from this tragedy.
As for my week, last Monday a friend came over for a sewing day. Β We also went out for lunch and did rather more chatting than sewing – although a fair amount of chat was about approaches to constructing some of our projects, so not all gossip.
Tuesday I got on with washing more fabric and dyed a little more roving.
On Wednesday my lovely next door neighbour’s invited me over for tea. Forgot to take pics of food, but this wine was jolly nice..
Thursday was Knit and Neck It Sip in the lounge of our lovely local hotel.
With the weather turning beautifully warm this week, Nature has really sprung up. I spotted these gorgeous Oxeye daisies beside Lydford castle…
… and the foxgloves have really blossomed…
But, of course, in the heat, Mr Hicks has needed more river/puddle time than ever. Here’s one of the more cleans dips he’s taken…
Hope you’ve had a great week.
thanks for sharing the petition

Thank you. I’m thinking of doing something with the daisies image. They’re so pretty.

I think it will be oxeyes in my next daisy painting – that is a beautiful view of them! I love the pic of Mr Hicks meditating in the water, he looks so regal. And I do hope that’s the end of the horrors for the UK. Have a wonderful week Bekki!

The Oxeyes definitely inspired me too. I just need to sit down when it’s quiet now and turn them into something. HRH was being very regal – refusing to look because he knew I was taking his picture. Wishing you a wonderful week too xx

I think it is so neat that your local hotel has a knit night! That sounds like an amazing way to spend an evening.

It is a lovely evening and a lovely room we knit in – the light is great too and the tables not sticky like the pub. They do cream teas too π

Watched Panorama last night. Apparently ministers had been warned the building wasn’t safe regarding fire precautions and the cladding, which had recently been added for cosmetic reasons, was already banned on high rise building when it was put there! π¦

Petition signed and shared. Lots of scandal surrounding that fire – somebody will have to be held accountable and steps put into place to avoid it happening again. I’m amazed it hasn’t happened before now really.
Anyway – your neighbour gives the kind of tea parties I would like π
It’s too hot to hug dogs – my old boy is panting away next to me and moulting like the devil – so give Hicks a wink from me instead.

Thank you. Yes, it’s an absolute disgrace.
It was actually dinner, but she’s also good at afternoon alcohol π
Yes, poor old HRH is struggling with the heat –
and his back leg too π¦ Winks to all your guys too.
