Joining in a day late this week with Sunday Sevens – started by Nathalie at Threads and Bobbinsย – sharing seven pictures of my personal week.
Here in the UK, Sunday last week was Fathers’ Day. Lovely husband was away, so Hicks made an e-card to send him…
Lovely Husband shared it with the girls and minutes later this arrived…
Talk about sibling rivalry!
As you probably know, we had a bit of a heatwave here in the UK last week.I took advantage of the heat by dyeing some wool I want to knit into a cardigan…
Poor Mr Hicks couldn’t even walk as far as a stream to cool down. In fact we only went for a couple of ‘token’ walks because he was getting frustrated at going nowhere. Here he is on one of them, very close to the entrance of Lydford Gorge, after we’d manged a whole 20 yards.
The weather cooled down on Thursday – just perfect for a visit from our holidaying Great Nephew…
After heading out for a picnic in the park, where I finally bagged my third Dartmoor otter in the cafe…
…we went home again and the usual axe throwing and other dangerous competitions ensued…
… we even had the Nerf guns out while Hicks was asleep in the lounge. Poor chap is terrified of the sight of them, and everyone was under strict instruction to hide them the minute he woke up.
So that was my week. How was yours?
Even my two younger dogs were enervated in the heat last week – and that takes a lot.
If Mr. Hicks is distressed by nerf guns he probably wouldn’t have made a very good actual retriever so just as well you’ve got him ๐
Are you buying all those otters?

Funny enough he isn’t bothered by the sound of gunshot – it’s the ‘pht!’ of the nerf guns that that’s the problem. Mind, I don’t think the word ‘retrieve’ is in his vocabulary ๐
The otters are being auctioned off at the end of the summer. Not sure I can afford the ones I like ๐ฆ

Thank you. Up until about a year ago, Hicks just shredded cuddlies, but he’s turned over a new leaf in his old age ๐

I think I looked like them too ๐ I know a few people are missing it, but I’m much happier with this week’s heat – although I could do with the wet stuff only coming at night ๐

Ah, dear old Hicks! Our two spent most of the week flat out on the tiles on the kitchen floor in and effort to cool down. Love the Father’s Day ‘paw’ prints!!
