I can’t believe it’s been a whole month I posted about knitting. Although there has been a lot of other stuff going on, part of my tardiness has been because not much of it is inspiring me.
For a start, I’m thinking this scarf needs frogging…
I don’t know what I was thinking when I started it as a no concentration piece. It might be basic knitting, but the rows are ever changing.
Talking of basic knitting I’m not keen on, I’ve not done too badly on LH’s Christmas Sweater. Thanks to holiday car journeys and book group knitting, I’ve finished the back and knitted a sleeve and a half. Who knows, I might even have it finished it for this Christmas π
I obviously haven’t had much waiting room time lately, since my handbag knitting is growing very slowly. I’ve just cast off the first sock of the pair I started at the end of May!
As or fun knitting, I’ve completed all the squares of my mitred mystery – apart from one. I’ve ground to a halt though since next I need to make a piece of felt for it (is that a big enough clue what it is?) and I’m way too busy do that right now.
I also done a bit of swatching for patterns my next big project. Β I now need to swatch this pattern for gauge and to swatch for the edging too.
Unbelievably for me, that really is all I have on my needles!
I think that’s enough for anybody.
My mind must be dulled with housework today – I have a visitor coming for a week tomorrow so it just had to be done – but I can’t figure out what your felt backed, mitred mystery is going to be. Somebody who has spent the morning reclined on a sofa reading an improving book will probably come up with the answer.

Sorry to hear about the need for housework. Mind, if you’ve a day to go, will they notice after the dogs have been in and out once?
I’m sure the answer will come to you about 4am tomorrow morning π as these things do when you stop thinking about them π

Thank you. I’m sure it will. Getting a wee bit excited about the sweater actually, as I’m almost at the interesting bit. Mind, I need to find time to draw it our first!

I think that you are doing fine! That red sweater – great progress!!!! and the mystery – is it a pot holder?
The scarf is pretty – why frog it? Am I missing something?
Also, my new theory (as yet untested ) on socks is that knitting second socks is overrated. I am going to make two socks form different patterns and call them a pair, and see if my OCD will let me wear them. Think of the freedom that will create!

Thank you. Not a pot holder – although I wish it was, then I could say you were getting warmer π The scarf looks prettier in the photo than in real life and I’m getting fed up with it. Although I do love the pattern. I’ll keep thinking on that one.
Ha ha! I will do the second sock to match as it’s a present. Like your plan though. My hubby always wears odd socks on purpose.

lol at your pun. π OK. Not a potholder, but need a felt square? I will have to wait and see.
If you don’t love the scarf now, set it aside and see if you like it better when the red sweater is finished, lol.
I like how your husband thinks! The only trouble I foresee with this plan is the laundry – I wont; be able to tell if a sock is missing!

Ha ha! Once you get into the swing of this odd sock thing, you’ll be creating missing socks, just so you don’t have pairs π

I don’t knooooooooowwww! It’s doing my head in! Where is the felt going and why? I haven’t had any needles of any kind in my hands all month so you are doing way better than me π

Sorry, I thought the felt thing would give it away.
Now you might have had no needles, but I bet you’ve done loads of gorgeous painting – of which i have never done any π

Ohh check out all the knitting that you have achieved. I have literally just picked up my needles yesterday for the first time in a few months! This sailing for a living thing is really crimping my style !
Looking good on the progress of the Christmas jumper, I cant wait to see the front of it π

Thank you. Yep, that working for a living can be a real downer on your knitting π¦ Great to hear you’ve finally picked your knitting back up π

These are great projects, and I can see the sweater even being done by Christmas. π I really need to work on more goodies, and currently I have a sweater going only. The scarf is pretty and I do like the pattern.
Enjoy the WIP’s.
