It’s funny how things grow. Just under a year ago on 1st December 2016, on a whim, I decided to knit a different Santa sack and publish the pattern free on my blog for the 24 days of advent.Β It was a great fun and, although I ended up posting two sacks on a couple of days when I got behind, I otherwise achieved my goal.
After Christmas I took a look at the patterns again and realised what a mess they were. I took them down planning on tidying them up ready for this year. I pretty much forgot about them until August – or maybe it was even September – when I decided to sort them out, ditch a few awful ones, design some new ones and publish them as a collection at the beginning of October.
However life had other ideas. I didn’t make the beginning of October, but finally after working on them for what currently feels like forever, I’ve just uploaded the PDF to Ravelry!
You can find the pattern here.
I’m also making a printed booklet available in the Dartmoor Yarn Company shop. But don’t go looking for it yet, because I haven’t finished putting that together yet.
Awesome job, well done! π

Thank you. It’s amazing how much work was involved! π

I love them and if we had Christmas in Winter I’d be making them all up!! Down here I think organza sacks might work better but they aren’t nearly as much fun to make. You did good! π

Thank you π I still have trouble getting my head around that some people have Christmas in summer π

Well done you for finding the time and inclination. I think my favourite is the little Christmas tree with all the baubles. Or is it the Christmas pudding?

Thank you. It’s a lot more hard work than I though. Mind, the ravelry system was part of it. Not that the ravelry system is difficult or bad, just a learning curve. I seem to recall it was the Christmas pudding you liked best a few weeks ago, but I hadn’t finished the tree with the baubles at that stage.

I love the red and white ones best. The sleigh is most impressive. Well done on the project. Might I ask about the Christmas jumper…probably not.

Thank you. So pleased you like them. No one has singled out the sleigh before and I do worry about the ones that aren’t my particular favourites – or other people’s favourites – so thank you for that. You can ask about the Christmas jumper π Unfortunately (or maybe that’s fortunately) Hubby has been around mostly when I have time to knit, so I haven’t done many rows on the front. However it’s knitting group night tonight, so will get some done then π And it WILL be finished in time for pre-Christmas.

Am begining to feel for poor Hubby, can’t have him cold at Christmas. The sleigh is unique, not many designers have come up with that one to the best of my knowledge, so it really caught my eye.

He’ll be fine – i assure you π Managed quite few rows at knitting evening and a few yesterday evening too. Although I am now tying all my yarn in knots with all the different colours!

They are adorable, and so many!! How does one choose? You would simply have to knit them all. π

Eek! Better see what’s wrong with that. Thanks for letting me know. And thanks for buying the pattern – notification’s just come through on my email π So you obviously found it. Thank you! Hope you enjoy knitting them. Look forward to seeing pictures π

Thanks again. Just checked it out and discovered it was because I changed the title to Christmas Santa sacks (from santa sacks) a couple of days after and the link on ravelry actually changes when you do that!
