Monday Sevens – 6th November

My Sundays Sevens has turned into Monday Sevens this week, due to me being at Stitch Fest all weekend and not having time to post yesterday. So here’s my seven (or so) pictures for last week…

Last year we placed the winning bid in an auction for afternoon tea for two at the Endsleigh hotel.Β So last Sunday we enjoyed a walk in their grounds in the beautiful autumn sunshine…

We then went inside for our afternoon tea…

I was too busy scoffing the cakes to remember to take a pic of them, but I did take a pic of this wonderful door disguised as a bookcase.

Most of the rest of the week was spent preparing stock for Stitch Fest…

Then on Saturday we got up really early to drive Totnes and set up my stall…

I had a wonderful weekend catching up with woolly minded friends and making lots of lovely new ones. I even got to meet two lovely bloggers, Tracy who blogs at Yarn and Pencil and Rosina who blogs at Zeens and Roger.

Thank you to everyone who visited my stall, to all the other lovely stall holders for being so fab, and to Saj and Caroline and all who were involved in organising and running the event.

Saj and Caroline also gave all us stall holders some scrummy local fudge to welcome us to the festival.

There were so many lovely tempting yarny related things for sale, but with lots of projects planned and a self-imposed ban on stashing, I resisted all but one skein of yarn, dyed by the talented and lovely Rosie from Rosie’s Moments…

Hope you’ve had a great week.

    1. Thank you it did. The Santa sack booklet went down well at Stitch Fest too. Great to have your feedback about the Facebook group and to know it’s adding to people’s enjoyment of knitting πŸ™‚

  1. Your stall looked stunning. I hope it went well too. How super cute are the Santa Sacks. πŸ™‚
The hotel is beautiful, and the gardens are amazing.
Love your new yarn, such a pretty colour.
Have a great week and enjoy. xx

    1. Thank you. It’s certainly grown in the last year πŸ™‚ The hotel is a grade 1 listed building and an expensive hotel πŸ™‚ Oddly, even though there was no daylight, the yarn colours are pretty true in the pic. Wishing you a fab week too xx

  2. Lovely pics of England in the autumn πŸ™‚
Your stall looks stuffed full of goodies – was it a successful day for you? I’ve got a fund raising craft fair coming up but am not in the mood to make lots of new things so I’ll have to rake around to find things I’ve already made or that are for sale in my Etsy shops.
The blogging world is small isn’t it? I’ve just seen that Labrador fabric (in pic before fudge) on Shelia Sewchet’s Sunday Sevens. Love those little dogs on the mint green zippy bags BTW (I thought I’d say that in case you get me in the Stitching Santa πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ )

    1. Thank you. Yes thanks, a successful weekend πŸ™‚ I’m sure your rooting around will find a lot more than you expect to. Funny you mention the Labrador fabric, there was also a lady at the show who’d made a tote bag from it. Better hop off to Shelia’s blog and take a look. Secret Santa hint noted πŸ™‚

  3. I’m glad Stitchfest was a success! It was lovely to meet you. Sorry I didn’t come back and say cheerio but I get very over excited at these sorts of things and don’t think in a linear fashion. Far too side tracked by all the yarn!!
I hope the festival goes from strength to strength, we absolutely need one here in the Southwest! xxx

    1. Great to meet you too. I was so busy, I didn’t realise I hadn’t seen you before you left until nearly at the end. No worries, I’m sure we’ll meet again. You have put me off that crochet stitch I like though πŸ™‚ And too right, we absolutely need it down here. xxx

  4. Was really hoping to get out the salon (I’m up in The Narrows in Totnes) to pop down to stitchfest on Saturday but I was so busy I couldn’t get out. Caroline used to have her shop next to mine so I was always popping in between customers!
Hotel Endsleigh is beautiful isn’t it, I love the gardens. I took my mum there in the summer but looks just as lovely this time of year. We went for lunch but the Afternoon Tea looked amazing, I hope you enjoyed all those tasty treats on offer! πŸ˜ƒ
