Since March has already been and gone, I thought I’d better get on and review my March progress on this year’s goals.
March has been exceedingly busy, but not with crafting I’ve completely ignored my goals to:
- Make a gift a least once a month on average
- Give random gifts (gifts not attached to birthdays, house moves, Christmas etc) at least 6 times this year
- Write up my outstanding knitting patterns then write them up within two weeks of object/garment completion – sorry Lynn
- Become and remain UFO free all year.
- Spin for 15 minutes a day when possible
- Finish the quilt I started in 2017
I have achieved my goal to always have some knitting using yarn from my stash on my needles, but only because I haven’t touched it all month!
However, there are two goals I have made progress on:
1. Make the Dartmoor Yarn Company a more ecofriendly business
Last month I announced the arrival of Naked Kits in the web shop. I’m hoping the virtuousness of this move makes up for failing to work on so many of my other goals last month.
2. Experiment/play/learn once a week
Two ticks here:
- I’m still working very slowly on my new kit – but it’s still frustrating me, so I haven’t picked it up as often as I should have. It really should be finished and out in the shops by now!
- I’ve knitted the shawl collar for my Pineapple Cardigan four times now and ripped it out three times. I am finally happy with it and am sewing it up!
Although I’m planning on getting more crafting done in April, the garden is absolutely desperate, so if the weather finally becomes more spring-like, I’m not sure I will.

The cardigan looks great! And I’m sure going naked makes up for any other misses 🙂 I got busy in the last half of the month with making cards as everyone’s stashes are low and started crocheting two blankets. And I’m searching for a stand-up doll crochet pattern – this is the woman who has only one wip at a time 😀

Your knitting is beautiful, and I love the fact you are trying to be eco friendly with your business. My crafting was odd in March, sometimes I got lots done and others weeks I got nowhere fast!

me end of March/beginning of April was productive (gotta love the Easter hols!). Well done for reaching the sewing up stage of the cardigan 😀

The business idea had to come first so well done. As to my crafting this year, life has stepped in as sometimes it does.

It seems to be the time for bloggers to review their goals or their 18 for 18 or whatever. As you know, I am not a goal setter, but am enjoying witnessing the struggles – because I’m wicked like that.
As for your pattern – the only reason I haven’t started on my ‘annual garment’ yet is because the yarn for a downloaded pattern I fancied, came to more than 200 quid and the search for a substitute continues. So, you might get to me first after all. Otherwise there’s always 2019.
