Finally – almost two years after I started it – I’ve finished the patchwork for the top layer of my quilt.
Last time I showed you it was looking like this…
The final border was made up of six inch squares. It took quite a while laying them out and ensuring the patterns were evenly spread and no two patterns that were the same touched…
I then numbered ever square, because every time I do chain piecing I manage to mix the order up.
Pleased to say I managed to keep them in order and they’ve all been attached now.
Next I need my lovely lovely friend to help me put the quilt sandwich together – far to big to do on my own – and I don’t mean this lovely lovely friend…
Until next time

Well done! It’s looking good though it sure will be a big pile of fabric to pull around with batting and backing and etc…… That’s the bit I always found daunting. Harry sure is cute! โค

Thank you. Indeed it will. Am hoping I can managed to stuff it all under the arm of my machine to quilt it!
Harry says ‘Thank you’ and sends a snuggle.

Well done, it is stunning, and nice and big, just the right size for your bed. Once you get going, you sure keep going. ๐

Thank you. Well it was well over due – although winter will probably be gone and we won’t have need for it until the autumn by the time I’ve quilted it.

He does – will be a three person job; friend to help me with quilt and hubby to distract Harry.

Thank you.
Hard, but I think I’ll regret it if I allow him to get hold of the 505 spray ๐

Gosh it is so pretty. I am sure Harry would have been a great help, he looks most offended.

Thank you. If you let me know when you’re ready for some help with your quilt I’ll send him up to you to test that theory!
Hope you had a great time at your workshop today.

It was really good. I have it sandwiched and quilting is happening, and I understand why you need help. There are three of us doing the beginner quilt and we helped each other. Harry can help anytime he likes.

Glad you enjoyed it. Yes, not easy to do on your own, especially when my quilt is so huge. My friend is coming round tomorrow to help me.
