Welcome to my Sunday Sevens : A post were I share seven (or so) photos of my week away from the blog. Sunday Sevens was invented by Nathalie at Thread and Bobbins.
Last Sunday we had a walk along the river Okement…
Followed by Harry’s first trip to Okehampton station cafe, where we had brunch…
As we walked back through the park to the car, we saw a beautiful carpet of crocuses…
The sunny weather had also brought out the frogs…
This week our weather vein started squeaking, so Lovely Husband braved it up onto the roof, but not before putting a sheet on the ground to stop the oil dripping on the patio for Harry to lie on.Β
Harry helped out again in the garden…
Sadly the sunny weather disappeared on Thursday, so I gave the pantry it’s annual tidy…
Rain or shine we had lots of lovely dog walks, but hard to get young dogs to stay still for photos. Just about managed to grab a shot of Harry and a bit of his two English setter pals.
I was actually trying (but failed) to get a good shot of a muddy Harry – this is the first time in his seven weeks with us that he’s got properly muddy. These were the best I could manage…
But while Harry wouldn’t stay still, his friend Baxter was happy to pose with a small stick.
Hope you’ve had a great week.

Looks like you’ve got yourself another wallower. Is there a goldie that isn’t, I wonder?

I’m not convinced he is – he just got out the muddy end of the pond to get that mud on him – mind I’m not convinced he isn’t either.

Looks like Harry had some great fun with his pals and why do they always carry an oversize branch. So funny!

He certainly did.
I think they do it to smack you in the back of knees as they run past – never seen it achieve anything else.

I can’t see any frogs – whine, grizzle….. I think I see some tadpoles though that might just be the result of me blinking my eyes rapidly trying to focus on frogs. Great to see you got some nice weather already. The crocus carpet is spectacular. Lovely to see a slightly muddy Harry and his busy pals.

Try squinting again, it’s frog spawn.
The crocuses were lovely – sadly the photo doesn’t really do justice.
Good to have a muddy Harry, but he’s usually very happy being clean and I’m not going to argue with that!

More funny and lovely pics of Harry. He is having a whale of a time! Like the crocuses. And yummy looking breakfasts. I can’t seem to see any frogs either, but reading above, I should be looking for frog spawn. Ahah!

Thank you. Yes, Harry does like to get involved. Breakfasts always great at the station and so cheap!

Brilliant value then and dog friendly too so bonus. Does he drool over the bacon? π€£

He doesn’t. Hicks used to, but he was very old when we shared our bacon and we figured it didn’t do any harm at that age. We’re not to getting Harry eating things he shouldn’t as he’s so young. Current thinking is that one bacon sandwich is equal to 4 cigarettes in badness, so none of us should be eating it really!

That’s a good strategy! For Harry anyway. I’m sure your ok with the sandwich. You look very trim in your photos. π

Aw! Thank you. Or are you saying I’m so old it’s too late to worry about the effect of the bacon on me? π

π One of my favourite places on your walks. I am sure Harry loved it too. Well he seems to love everything that has to do with being outdoors and walkies.
Looks beautiful with all the flowers. π
Enjoy the new week, and I hope you have some more sunny days ahead. π

Thank you. It’s so lovely to see his youthful enthusiasm for everything – such a shame it fades as we grow older.
We’ve a forecast for a wet week this week. Hope you have a good one xx

Indeed, they grow old to quickly. Miekie is still good, but she enjoys the house and garden more than outings, except if its in the car.
Hope the rain is good rain and not flooding or muddy.
Keep dry and take care. π

Great to hear Miekie is still well. I miss seeing her in posts from you.
Not bad enough rain for floods. As for mud, where there’s a golden retriever there’s mud! xx

See Harry is a very useful dog, he can stop sheets blowing away for the Mister and dig holes for the gardener, he can test the quality of mud and check out the playfulness of people’s dogs. He would be the perfect help for smoothing out the quilt sandwich. I bet he could even help demolish those yummy breakfasts. Another lovely Sunday Seven.

Ha ha! Yes, a very useful dog! π
Just put sandwich together on the bedroom floor. Took two of us an hour and a half, doubtless Harry could have done it on his own in half the time π
