It’s been a month since my last Frog or Finish update of theย 9 UFOs that I and vowed to finish or frog this year.
Having dealt with five of them when I posted about them in April, I had four left to finish…
I was delighted to report on Monday that I’d finally finished the floral quilt.
I’m also pleased to say I took advantage of the hot weather at Easter and blocked the unblocked shawl…
Book group is the place I knit my UFO socks, because I don’t have to pay any attention to them, apart from when I turned the heel – which I did at home. So they’re growing nicely, but I’ve still no idea why I started at the top on one and the toe on the other.
That leaves my blue cardigan. Unfortunately I’m getting nowhere looking for buttons. It’s driving me crackers – all I need to do is find some buttons I’m happy with to finish, yet it’s turned into a seemingly impossible task.
Apart from my button frustration I’m very happy with my UFO progress. Dare I ask how you guys are doing with your UFO counts this month?
Until next time,
Bekki x
Fabulous progress, congratulations!
I’ve also picked up some UFOs with the aim to finish or frog… it will be some time before I get as far as you’ve done though! But I want to stick to no new projects before I make any real progress with the existing ones. Just this morning I was looking into set-in sleeves for a sweater I started moons ago without following a pattern. First time I’m doing sleeves, see if that works ๐
Have a lovely day!

I’m enjoying having fewer projects on the go.
You’ll get there with the UFOs.
Good luck with the sleeves. I’m sure you’ll do a brilliant job.

Well done – your determination to finish everything is admirable! There must be some nice buttons somewhere for the cardy – it looks such a warm and cosy piece. I love the texture of it. I don’t think anything has changed here – I’m still working on two Amanzi throws at once and have never taken even one photograph of the progress – so I’ll probably just post about them finished at some stage ๐

Thank you. You’re right, I’m sure the perfect buttons are sitting there just waiting for me to discover them.
Oh go on, post some partway pics of your throws.

Good progress! Funny about the socks, bit they look great.
Buttons, what a drag! Have you looked on etsy? I have gotten some beauties there

Thank you. It is bugging me trying to remember why I did the socks that way.
Yes, looked on Etsy. Am thinking i might try to make some Dorset buttons for it. Not that I know how to make them, but I’m sure there’s a book.

Lol I am sure there is a reason for the socks AND a book on how to make the buttons! I am surprised, though that nothing hit you on etsy. I always find 57 possibilities for buttons there.

That’s the way always 57 possibilities or none and nothing in between ๐

What about getting some blank buttons and covering them with coordinating fabric or crochet or knit the covers in the same yarn?

That’s a good idea. Why didn’t I think of that?

Well done – your progress is admirable. How about some wooden toggle style buttons for your cardigan?

I have looked at them and, no, don’t think they’re right. Told you I was being fussy ๐
