Welcome to my Sunday Sevens – a post where I share seven (or so) photos of my week away from the blog.
It was my birthday this week and better than that it turned into a whole week of birthday celebrating.
Lovely littlest came to visit for a few days. As you may know she doesn’t like her photo being posted, so none of her, but a few of our visit Polzeath where we had lunch at the Crab shack…
…then walked across the cliffs to Daymer beach, where the tide was so far out we could walk across the sand from Daymer to Rock beach…
Closer to home we went on a couple of woodland walks with lovely littlest, where events included log balancing…
and we also encountered this rather creepy tree…
In other events I celebrated my birthday and a friend’s birthday with a cream tea in the garden with a group of our mutual friends. True to form I forgot to take a photo until I was clearing up the debris….
On my actual birthday Lovely Husband, Harry and I went to visit the sculpture gardens atΒ Broomhill Hotel near Barnstaple. We really enjoyed it and I would totally recommend it if you’re in the area. Here’s a few pics…

Birthday celebrations aside I also bagged a few bargains at the village jumble trail on Saturday…
And with the weather picking up at the end of the week we had a few BBQs….
And several cream teas with the left overs from my birthday tea party…
Hope you’ve had a great week.
Until next time,
Bekki x
Happy Belated Birthday. A woman after my own heart – spreading your birthday out over a week or so.
I like the look of the sculpture park though I do find that upside down tree hugger a bit disturbing.
I also like the look of Lovely Husband’s idea of a cream tea π₯

Thank you.
You’re right the tree hugger was rather creepy. There was however a far more disturbing area that i found very moving, but I chose not to post any pics of that as they didn’t feel in keeping with the ‘me-ness’ of my blog.
Actually that’s me eating up the leftovers from the tea party – clearly I have good grip on the understanding of leftovers when they include a previously unopened bottle of champagne π

Happy Birthday Bekki – sounds like you had a grand week which is how all our birthdays ought to be celebrated – birthweeks π That arty park outing looks like it was a lot of fun. I have a lead crystal plate that looks a lot like your fair score. Mine was a wedding present in 196mumble …….
I’m wondering if they are related.

Thank you. Mine’s actually a cake stand – took pics rather hurriedly to get my SS post sorted in a short space of time – still it would be nice to think they’re related.

Happy Birthday Bekki. The family did you proud. I can’t believe the beach was so empty, where is everyone? Harry seems to be having a really hard life, scones, fizzy, walks, sculptures, lawn lazing, it’s a dog’s life.

Thank you.
I not sure why that part was so empty at that point – there were the usual number of people walking about – although no one would sit on that part of the beach, because it’s only uncovered for a few hours at low tide.

Wonderful, Happy birthday, and I hope you had a stunning week.
Those art pieces in the garden is stunning, and look how comfy Harry looks on that couch. π
Love the cake stand, it is a very good bargain.
Enjoy the new week, and I hope the lovely weather holds, with lots more time outdoors and BBQ time.
Take care

Thank you. Glad you like the pics. My favourite bargain was the strawberry planter, which I’m currently working out how to plant up as I’ve also now acquired some free strawberry plants π
Hope you have a great week too. Weather here is set to break tomorrow π¦

Your planter looks perfect. They seem to grow so easily, and look pretty too. π
Definitely a great buy.
Enjoy every minute outside while you can. π It is slowly getting warmer here now.

Thank you. They’re already looking bigger and perkier – think they’re pleased to be able to stretch their roots.
Humid here today then supposed to get cooler.
Have a good week xx

So, like me, your birthday is mid-late August…I always spread mine out over a week (sometimes 2!) because it ALWAYS rains on my birthday. I think I’ve had 3 days in the past 48 years (admittedly I can’t remember the first 5 of those years) where it’s not rained. This year has been stonking weather, and we’ve been able to go out without getting rained on every day – other than my actual birthday of course! Glad you had a great week too – may you have many happy returns π

Ha ha! Yes, I always say it rains on my birthday – although this year it actually didn’t.
And look at that both in Devon, both Leos π
Happy belated birthday!

Thanks. Harry enjoyed himself, but he thought the wander round the sculpture garden a bit slow xx
