Welcome to my Sunday Sevens – a post where I share seven (or so) photos of my week away from the blog.
I didn’t mention it last week, because I don’t like to advertise that my friends are on holiday, but we’ve had the best sort of guest staying with us for a ten day vacation that ended on Tuesday this week.
We had a wonderful time with an extra fur baby in the house.ย And in the woods…
And on the beach…
The beach trip above was also a day out to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Which included a trip to the cracking crab for a celebratory crab baggette…
There was more celebration this week when I met up with a friend for late birthday cuppa and cake at Lifton Farm Shop. I just love their dancing chickens…
This week, of course, was the beginning of September. Autumn really seems to have arrived in the UK. There’s a distinct autumnal feel to the air and fungi springing up in the woods…
I also spotted lots off these. Not sure what they’re called, but I distinctly remember my mumย having to cut a heap of them out of my hair when we were kids, because my brother threw them at me…
The autumn fruits are also ripening early.ย I’ve been picking blackberries in the woods…
Harvesting lots of damsons from our damson tree…
But our haul of plums wasn’t quite so good…
I used the damsons to make jam…
But, not being a fan of blackberry jam, simply ate the blackberries with yogurt…
And finally I’ll leave you with a pic of Harry watching Ashley and Sully on Britain’s got talent.. He does love his dogs on TV…
Hope you’ve had a great week.
Until next time,
Bekki x
Looks like you had the perfect guest.

What a nice week. Did you go pop after that enormous sandwich? What a shame Yorkshire is so far from Devon, we have had loads of plums this year, the neighbours are doing well. Love the TV picture. My cat used to love the Grouse whisky advert!

Thank you. Those baguettes are huge. Donโt your neighbours let you have any of your plums? ๐ Our plum tree is very small, so hopefully some good crops as it grows.
Oh yes, if Devon and Yorkshire were side by side we could pop round to each other and have tea ๐

Thank you. Our plum tree is very small, so fingers crossed for more plums when it’s done some growing.

What a cute guest! And a nice, busy week. We donโt have any blackberries or raspberries this year. Last winterโs cold with no snow cover really did them in. But I have three fruits on the quince! First time ever! Not sure how to tell when they are ripe or what to do with them. Or even how to get them through the thorns! But they are there.
Happy anniversary!

Cute but a little strong willed ๐
Sorry to hear about your soft fruits, but well done on the quinces. Good luck with working out when they’re ripe. I’m very lucky to have found my gardening friend to consult on such matters.
Thank you for the anniversary wishes.

Congrats on the anniversary. The food looked delicious. ๐
And all the best with the harvest, it is always fun, even though we know the weather may be changing soon.
Hugs to Harry and enjoy the new week.
