A while ago I posted about my Dartmoor Snowflake Mitts, which I’d published a pattern for, but forgotten to blog about.
At the time I’d realised there was another pattern I’d done exactly the same with, so planned to post about that in my next blog post. But I forgot. No idea why I’ve remembered now – probably because we’ve just returned to hat weather – or at least we have in South West England.
So here it is – a hat with a pattern that looks like cables, but isn’t…
If you fancy making it the pattern’s here. Knitted in double knitting wool it’s super toasty – perfect for the coming winter days and perfect if you like the cable look, but don’t like cabling.
And that, I promise, really is the last pattern I’ve published and forgotten to mention.

I really like the look of the hat, and you know how I just adore cables- not. And I do have some suitable yarn… just need to get on with the polar bear.
