This year I’m planning on pursuing both creative ‘explorations’ as well as goals.
Explorations
Explorations are basically about following my heart during much of my creative time, so I’ll blog about that as it evolves.
Plans
Whilst not always completely fitting the criteria to be goals, most of my creative plans have at least time frames attached. Here’s what I have on my list so far…
- Make some birthday cards by the end of January.
- Make secret advent present before 1st December.
- Take part in Scrap Happy every month.
- Use scraps or materials from my stash, rather than new, as much as possible this year.
- The first goal I had on my original list was to make a birthday present for a friend whose birthday is Jan 11th – already complete 🙂
To achieve before the end of the year:
- Design a Christmas cardigan.
- Make the cork picture I’ve save over 100 corks for.
- Finish off renovating our blanket box.
- Dig out any UFOs and finish them before the end of the year.
To achieve before Christmas:
- Make a Christmas table runner – well before Christmas
- Make some Christmas table mats – well before Christmas
- Make Christmas crackers – before Christmas
- Santa Cowl – before Christmas
I’m sure this list will grow, but that’s it for now.
Hope you crafting’s going well.
Until next time,
Bekki x
Crikey! That’s pretty impressive. Here’s my plans: Wake up; Get up ……….

Thanks. I LOVE the fortune telling fish. It’s the only cracker gift worth getting. I used to have one in my car for when we were stuck in traffic, but I gave it to my daughter to take to her friends in the Netherlands, because they didn’t know what they were.
I made key rings last year for mine. No idea what I’ll do this year. Hopefully I’ll get some inspiration on that front before the end of the year.

How about fancy or comic cardboard glasses ? I’m sure you will get some ideas! Maybe you could make fortune telling fish with toffee wrappers? Someone recently told me some quality street or maybe roses wrappers are a similar material..x

Funny, I was wondering if I could make my own fortune telling fish in bed about 5am this morning! I never buy quality street apart from at Christmas and although all the sweets have all been eaten, the tub is still in the lounge housing two milky ways from the celebrations and some quality street wrappers – and to think I’ve been telling hubby off all these years for putting the wrappers back in the tub! What a star he is now! Tried one on my hand but no movement – although my hands are quite cold at the moment. Will try cutting it smaller and fish shaped and see what happens. Watch this space!
Thanks for the suggestion, would never have thought of trying quality street wrappers.

Lovely list of projects! I like the Christmas ones- ideally I know Christmas crafting needs to start in June, by the time I think about it at the end of November ti’s already too late.

Aargh! Christmas talk already.
I’m interested in how you are going to go about creating a cork picture. When Mlle. T. the Younger was still living here she collected corks – and that wasn’t a challenge for her at all in this house 😉🍷. So, she left behind gazillions of the things and I could definitely be up for a cork project.

Sorry about the Christmas talk.
I want to glue them straight on the kitchen wall – so hubby says I have to use removable glue. So at the moment that’s what’s putting me off. I do have some fabric glue that’s pretty removable, might give that a try when I have a moment.

Wouldn’t it be easier just to buy cork tiles? 🤣
Seriously though – what do you mean? Are you just going to glue a load of corks on to your kitchen wall?

Yes, but in a very arty way 🙂

Some really great ideas there, you are such a good example to me Bekky because I admire the way your goals are set out to make them measurable and achievable. I love the idea of a cork board, all those bottles of wine you have enjoyed! I don’t drink much so it would take me years to get enough! Happy New Year Bekky, lots of blessings

Thank you – that’s really kind of you. It’s not a cork board it’s a picture – actually i’ve had a friend giving a lot to me. Very few wine bottles have corks these day – unless you’re dead posh!
