Welcome to my Sunday Sevens – a post where I share seven (or so) photos of my week.
Have I mentioned it’s been a bit wet lately?
Yes, we’ve had yet another wet week. Two weekend storms (Ciara and Dennis) bookending yet another week of near constant strong wind and rain. Most of the week I’ve kept out of the woods, but on Friday I braved Burley Woods to find quite a few downed trees…
I also spotted this bow fallen off but not yet fallen.
On another walk Harry manged to get those really sticky spiky seed pods stuck to him. I pulled them off, but then couldn’t get them off my gloves…
Harry persists in being chivalrous and carrying my hats and gloves up the drive after a walk. This week he even offered to carry my gloves mid walk – but I quickly wised up when he dropped one next to a bush then cocked his leg on it…
Although it was pretty dark on Saturday this pool at Meldon was bright turquoise…
Another brighter note in my week was a trip to the Peter Tavy Inn for dinner and a scrummy pudding…

And finally a picture of Harry on a bridge…
Hope you’ve had a great week.
Until next time,
Bekki x
Hope the weather has been kind to you today. We’ve definitely had it lucky compared to South Wales. I can’t believe the gentlemanly Harry tried peeing on your gloves. Made me chuckle though. ๐

Hubby took the morning shift when we were still on weather to merit an amber weather warning and i did the afternoon by which time there was a clear blue sky. Lots and lots of rain, but our geography means it will have to be rain of biblical proportions for us to flood. The pics from wales look awful ๐
Don’t think Harry realised what he was doing – at least I hope he didn’t.

Your area looks very similar to my area of Canada

We’re very rural for the UK. I’d love to visit Canada.

Iโm suburban west coast Canada but Iโve heard that our climate is similar to yours. Itโs definitely a beautiful place to visit. Of course I want to see the UK!

I’m sure Harry didn’t mean to pee on your glove – boys aren’t very good at multi-tasking, hence those odd accidents when legs are being cocked! It’s so sad to see downed trees after storms isn’t it. One of my regrets is not having a big enough piece of land to plant lots of trees these days. I hope you get a drier week – we’ve finally got summer ๐

I’m sure he didn’t.
Very sad. They seem like felled dinosaurs to me. So huge and beautiful. Not that I got that I got close enough to these to feel that. The ground is so wet I was more intent in getting out of the woods as U want sure how stable the others were ๐ฆ
We’re very lucky to have a small copse of trees at the front if or property.

Ew! I remember those sticky things, They used to get in our goldie and collie fur. I haven’t come across them here but we do get those tiny sticky seeds. Both the dogs now are fairly short haired but we do have one hairy cat and she picks those up very easily.
I think peeing on your glove was probably an accident and meant for the bush but, if you prefer, we could call it a sign of affection.

My brother once three them in my hair when we were young. My mum had to cut them out ๐ฆ
Accident rather than affection if you ask me.

Oh Harry! Why was the water that lovely colour? Hope you survived the storms this weekend. Poor Crickhowell where my sadly departed Mum used to live did not fare well at all.

It’s near an old quarry, so I assume there’s some sort of element or compound in the water, but I don’t actually know.
We were a lot better off than they thought. Although I worry about how unstable the coastline and embankments etc are when they’re so waterlogged. An awful lot of plastic and rubbish has been swept up on the beaches. Although maybe that’s a good thing as it is now out of the sea and will get cleaned up.

Lovely week, despite the storms. That pool looks amazing, the colour is stunning.
Just look at those sticky seeds. I bet they took a while to clear of your gloves again.
Keep warm and dry if the weather is still wet and windy there. We are expecting some rain here today, but probably only the usual afternoon thunderstorm that will flood the roads before we get home, and then pass over.
Have a great week. xx

Hello. Great to hear from you ๐
I think there’s still a few bits on my gloves ๐ฆ
Yep, still cold and damp – and the aga has broken ๐ฆ Roll on summer.
Wishing you a great week too.

Pity hearing your aga is broken. It makes all the difference on those very damp days. ๐
I am sure summer will be making her way to you soon. Or I hope so. It has been a very hot summer here, and I must admit I do prefer our winters. ๐
Happy crafting. xx

Hello. Great to hear from you. I’ve rather abandoned the blog for the last few weeks, but working my way back. All good here, just so busy and of course have the general covid-19 impending sense of doom. Suspecting you’re going to be much busier due to that, but do hope you return on a more permanent basis xx
