Lock down is certainly making me appreciate nature’s magic. Outside my gate a beautiful patch of wild garlic is smelling divine…
Flowers have started blooming on the plants in my strawberry jar…
…and my potatoes are peaking through the earth…
Indoors LH is still working some days. I’m not saying he looses focus, but he has taken toΒ spotting stray ticks on Harry and naming them…
This week we also celebrated Lovely Husband’s Birthday. Birthdays in our house are often celebrated with garden Olympics, but due to a lack of contestants and inclement weather, the programme was shortened to a single game of boules…

and the introduction of a new indoor event…

In the evening the girls surprised their Dad with a Zoom visit. Several games were planned, but we were so giddy we only made it through the pub quiz…
And finally, a super easy Where’s Harry…
Hope your week has gone well.
Stay well, stay safe.
Until next time,
Bekki x
Yuk to ticks. They are the only creatures I will kill without compunction – well, those and fleas. I was going to ask why Harry’s ticks have wings but I think it might just be they were in motion when the photo was taken and some of the legs look like wings – double yuk.
A happy belated birthday to LH – sounds as if you had the best birthday gathering possible in the circumstances. Is ‘giddy’ another word for ‘tipsy’ in your house? π€£

Me too.
You’re right, our ticks don’t have wings – must be the way LH squashes them.
Thank you. I’ll pass your good wishes on.
As for giddy, guilty as charged.

Yes, tick alerts here too. Thankfully our girls are very short haired. We play Rummikub most afternoons. A bit of downtime (haha) before dinner prep starts. I actually tried a computer version but got cross with it as it wouldnβt organise the groups and rows properly! π

We have ticks here all the time – although the warm weather sees their numbers increase. Good thing about having a blond dog is they’re easy to see.
I don’t think I’ve played a game against a computer since Tetris went out of fashion – I need a real person to beat π

I must be one of the few who has not done the Zoom thing. Does look fun! The wild garlic flowers are everywhere here too. Enjoying the sunshine. Looks like Harry is keeping in the shady spot there. X

Zoom is fun and just an app so easy to download. The sun certainly is shining – which is great, but I’m fed up with watering the garden.

I thought you said Where’s Harry was easy, he was so well hidden under that bench he nearly had me fooled!! Happy Birthday to LH, glad that there was plenty of giddiness. He must be getting bored to be naming ticks! I shall have to go on my favourite wild garlic walk next month for sure. Did you see that you can now drive to a walk if the length of the walk exceeds distance travelled, and you can sit on a bench to take a rest but not take a tablet and do some work on a bench, and you can stop and eat lunch on a walk but not just take a picnic and not do a walk! I am actually the sad person who reads the Covid guidance updates- nothing I don’t know about tank MOTs now!

Thanks for the good wishes, I’ll pass them on. Someone mentioned to me that you could now drive to a walk if the time of the walk exceeds the time travelled in the car- which means I can go all the way to Bristol for Harry’s average walks π

Wow! It’s all a mad – and giddy – rush of excitement at your house! Ticks with names!! I’ve never seen a real tick – I don’t think we have them here. I do have a dog two weeks overdue for his weekly bath though and that has made it to the top of today’s list. As he loves his bath and kitty joins in too, it will be party time here today also π I’ve spent the past three weeks doodling with a countrywoman of yours (Shoutout to Barbara Gray of Clarity Stamps) and yesterday I had a breakthrough in my almost two year long arting hiatus so I’m feeling quite jubilant and very grateful for this locked down spell. I’ve been constantly on zoom catching up with people I usually see regularly or even not so regularly. Zoom seems to have become the platform of popularity, probably because it is more reliable than the others at this point. I’m a fickle user though and go where I get the best service……. π We too have been indulging in quizzes without the pubs and other sundry activities that I would normally not spend time doing – but suddenly everyone needs entertaining π and it is fun! Harry has chosen an excellent spot to shelter under from the warm sun. β€

Sounds pretty giddy in your house with all that bathing π Maybe you don’t have tick – a good thing, because some carry Lymes disease.
Great to hear you’ve had an artistic break though. Doodling is so very good for us all round, so glad it did the trick. Guess that means we’re going to see some beautiful post soon?

I’m full of good intentions – but don’t hold your breath π

π I know. Everyone else is complaining about being bored in lock down and I still can’t fit all my good intentions in!

I keep meaning to dig some up and pot it up. Can’t use what’s outside – never know who might have done their business on it!
