I showed you a few of my quicker paintings in my Scrap Happy post yesterday, but here’s my latest project that took me a bit longer to paint. I followed a tutorial from Maria Raczynska, but plan to paint some of my own hydrangeas in the future.
Hope you like it. I’m pretty pleased – although the frog is still my favourite.

Thank you. There was a lot of purple going on, but I don’t have any purple, so I mixed pinks and blues, but I think. it’s all the better for that.

Well you definitely did a good job with mixing a nice shade of purple – that’s always something I struggle with, I just never seem to mix one I’m happy with.

Thank you. I mixed Ultramarine and Quincrinadone rose makes nice purples with other blues too – although obviously ultramarine is a very purpley blue – or at least it feel that way to me.

Quinacridone rose, I’ll keep that in mind. I’m trying to plan out a palette and figure out what colours I want but I’m terrible at picking out pinks. I was making a list of colours I liked and I feel like 70% ended up me just wanting every shade of blue and green that brands had!

That’s gorgeous Bekki, possibly my favourite so far, but hydrangeas are some of my favourite flowers so I’m biased.

Thank you. I love hydrangeas too – possibly because they’re so easy to grow here. I’ve taken loads of photographs of mine, so i can have a go at painting them in a while.
